The Best Class Ever

I landed up in the best class ever
So many memories were made
But the year is coming to an end now
And these memories will never fade

The messy lunch break scenes
The football games at the back of the class
The constant name calling
The countless times we lost the out pass !

Shazma ma'am's Hindi lectures
And her brilliant facial expressions
And the clueless chemistry periods
When Bridget ma'am went on about various reactions

The kind of entertainment we always had
Because of certain people in SST
And the crazy games periods
That provide beyond entertainment for me

All the girls 'whipping it out'
The unity I felt with my class mates
And though we got in trouble time and again
Those memories are the ones that are great

The countless times we got a games period
The hilarious nature walks
The mafia games and also ghost
The free periods we just sat and talked

It feels like just yesterday I walked into 10A
And never did I expect such good times
This class has gone beyond expectations
And I'm grateful for you friends of mine

This class is one I'll never forget
And what memories it has made for me in my last year
And when finally we vid our goodbyes
I will surely shed more than a tear.

School Life

School Life

When you're a small kid, just a teeny toddler
And you walk into the massive building called school
You're scared down to your last cell
You think rather than being educated, you should stay a fool

Ah ! But that's where you are dearly mistaken
For school is the best thing that will ever happen to you
For the people you meet and the things you learn
You come out of there a brand new you

And down that same road, I have been
And the road has come to an end now
But I have learnt much in my schooling life
And I have to leave, but I don't know how

It taught me math, though I didn't like it much
And it taught me science, I was alright
And it taught me all my speaking skills
It taught me what's wrong, and what's right

It inspired my writing skills, the reason I write this
It taught me the true meaning of friendship
And the friends I have made here, they took me on a journey
A journey that will never end, I will always stay on this Friend Ship

I cried many tears in this place called school
But then it taught me how to stand up
And to face my problems, to face my fears
It provided me with the care and the love

I learnt how to be disciplined
I learnt all about time management
And how to adjust and care for another
Oh the countless hours in school we spend !

And I met the most amazing human beings
Be it teachers or my fellow school mates
Some appeared to be rather mean sometimes
But none of them I could ever hate

School is where I first played basketball
That happiness I get with ball in my hand
And wearing my school jersey proudly
Determined in court I stand

The endless gossip across the corridors
The teasing with your first school crush
And the thrill in troubling a teacher
That punishment which gives you an adrenaline rush

Oh I'll miss these crazy times at school
I mean it from the bottom of my heart
It's all just brushed past me so fast
Up until now, right from the start

But memories last forever, these ones will for sure
The tears, the fears and all the happy times
They have made me who I am today
And oh it's been a great climb

And those who shared this journey with me
I couldn't thank you enough
For being there for me by my side
Through good times but also rough

So school you see is a magical place
And you'll miss it all when it's over
If I had the chance to do it all again
I would do it over and over

The Poem of Puns

I'm a really punny person
I'll show you exactly why
But please don't PUNish me
If you laugh so much that you die !

Well I would start of with a chemistry joke
But I know I won't get a reaction
And I would move on to mathematics but
2 out of 3 people have trouble with fractions

Now take my advice here
To write with a broken pencil is pointless
Said even the roundest night at King Arthur's round table
That would be Sir Cumference

Hmm...I once heard a joke about amnesia
But I forgot how it goes
Oh ! I smell a bad pun coming
But I don't know....who nose !

I was wondering how lightning works
When it finally struck me
At least I know sign language
I must say it's pretty handy !

The man who invented the door knocker ?
Well he won a No Bell prize
And have you heard about the discovery of "Ah" ?
It's the Element of Surprise !

I used to have a fear of hurdles
But I got over it soon
What did Neil Armstrong say after he was back on earth ?
"Neil before me, I was second on the moon. "

Have you tried eating a clock before ?
It's very time consuming
But a good baker should rise to the occasion
It's the yeast he should be doing !

The world of puns is endless
And I could go on on
So just remember the importance
Of the ever funny pun !

The End of the Quarter

Last week brought the end of an era. The last of my days for the NHVPS Basketball team. Six years ago, when I was in 5th standard, I was asked whether I wanted to play for my school, and who denies opportunities like that? But at that time, I didn't really know what the game was, it didn't really mean much to me. But now I can't say the same.
Basketball means everything to me. I really don't know what I would have done without this sport that I have come to love so much through the years.
Back then, I didn't know how it felt to wear your school jersey, proudly, with your school name in the front, and your own at the back. I never knew it could be such a proud feeling. But now I do. Now I
know.

And how empty I feel, that I won't wear that jersey again, representing my school, playing with my teammates that I have come to love and care for so much over the years on court with them.
I will miss it all. The fast breaks, the missed attempts but the chances at redemption, the buzzer beaters, those matches that went down to the last second, the close losses, the closer victories, both happy and sad tears, standing at the free throw line with your palms sweating like crazy cause you know you can't miss the shot, I will miss it all. My teammates, my coach and that style of the game itself..........
But that being said, I look forward to start playing for another team. A new beginning. A chance to do it all over again, with new friends and new people. And I can't wait for that new adventure to begin.

I Have A Dream

I HAVE A DREAM

I have a dream
That one day, all discrimination
Will be removed, and it will makes us
A truly democratic nation

That the slums of the poor will vanish...
Not to make space for a skyscraper,
But because there isn't any poor at all
And I hope this problem will taper

I have a dream
That some day, we will eradicate
All the corruption in our country
And it will better our fate

That our country will soon become
The most educated country,
With each individual having access to education
And to those who can't afford it, for free

I have a dream
That India will be pollution free
And not only will we have the 'Green City'
But we will be a green country

That our society will stand as one
Not on the basis of caste or religion
But united as one, under the name of
Proud Indians.

I have many dreams
And I also have faith in my country
That soon these will come true
And will be just as I see it to be

I am a proud Indian
And of my people, I'm as proud as I can be
And along with all these dreams, I hope
My country will be proud of me.
