Save the Tiger

So this was the first Charcoal sketch I did....and it turned out surprisingly well! Sadly, these beautiful animals are slowly being wiped off the face of the Earth....and this sketch maybe the only Tiger our succeeding generations may see, which would just be a sad and heart-breaking.

Those black and orange stripes
And the beauty within his eyes
In the darkness of the night
Awaiting his prey, in silence he lies

With stealth and speed he gently moves
Ever so quietly, yet swift and agile
Towards his prey he makes his way
The situation for the hunted becoming more volatile

But just as he is about to make a move
He is suddenly shot to the ground
And all his senses slowly fade
But he does hear one last sound

The sound of boots approaching him
Rustling the leaves on the ground as it does
And then he smells it, one last time
The worst scent that ever was

The scent of a human, ever so unpleasant
He could just smell the arrogance and pride
He wished he had a better sight
A better moment before he died

And with that thought he breathed his last
Swearing revenge would be taken in time
But very unfortunately it is unknown
How many times man will commit this crime

#ThanksMitch

So as you all know, I'm a major Cricket follower, and I'm a die hard supporter of Australia.
On 17th Novemeber, an era ended. An era of the best fast bowling I have seen. It was that day Mithcell Johnson retired from international Cricket.

My best memories of him are definitely that of the Ashes of 2013-14, where he absolutely DESTROYED the Poms with a record breaking 37 wickets in the series. It was only the second Ashes series I had ever watched, Australia losing the previous one just a few months ago, and Mitch wasn't in the losing squad.
For this man to come back into the team, change the game and perform the way he did is beyond remarkable. It didn't come easy though, being heavily criticized and battling injuries.

From what I've heard about Mitchell, he was a big softy off the field. His teammates and family members all called him a gentle giant, but that's not what opponents saw on the field.
What they saw was a menacing fast bowler with a killer bouncer and unbelievable pace. A man who always had some words to say and who had one of the nastiest stares I've seen. His aggression and pace exactly defined what we call the Australian way, and it will remain the Australian way.

There's no wonder how this man finished 4th on the list of Australian bowlers with most wickets. He never gave up during the lows of his career, and that's what highlights the highs. The fact that he always came back stronger and faster than ever, and sent those cherries down fast and hard consistently.

I for one will never forget this man. This legend. Thanks Mitch for the great memories and the brilliant moments from your journey in the fast lane.
Good luck with your next innings!

The Child in You

The Child in You

That innocent little laugh
And the endless curiosity
The ability to tell no lies
And the never ending energy

The simplicity of a Child
And the love so unconditional
The qualities of this little being
Are truly ever so exceptional

The qualities of a Child
Are ever so desirable and so pure
And that innocent laugh
And that infectious smile are the best cure

You're never to old to eat a lollipop
Or buy a cute stuffed toy!
Or take a ride on the merry go round
For these little things give much joy!

No matter how old you are
You will always have a child within you
And all you need is a little love
So to yourself stay true!

So on this special day
Go ahead and wish that child in you
You're allowed to have some fun
So why not enjoy a childhood new?

About Me!

Hi there! This is my first post of my blog so why don't I tell you a bit about myself?

Firstly, I love writing, be it poems, stories, anything. I am an avid reader, and I read all genres. My favorite author has to be, HANDS DOWN, Dan Brown. His style of writing has definitely inspired me in many ways. Jeffrey Archer is another one of my favorite authors....he's brilliant to!
Now, I absolutely love sketching.....it has to be one of my favorite pass times, and you can see some of my work in my blog!

Another thing you should know is I am a sports enthusiast. 'Enthusiast' is actually an understatement I must say..... I play basketball and tennis, and am a HUGE follower of cricket.
Also I am a foodie.... I mean who isn't? Good food is the way to anyone's heart...including mine! Eat to live or live to eat? Well mine is the latter! Good food, good music and being with people you love, according to me makes for a good time!

Well that's about enough about me! I hope you enjoy my blog and my works, and hopefully inspires some of you out there!
