The 100m Sprint

He was down, on all fours
Breathing fast.
Heart rate immeasurable.
Beads of sweat dropped down his face.

And then he heard the gun shot.
He was sprinting.
Sprinting for all his life.
His legs moving so fast they were a blur.

And then he could see it.
He pumped his legs faster than possible
And finally he was there.

He crossed the finish line first.
He now had a gold medal to call his own.
