Save the Tiger

So this was the first Charcoal sketch I did....and it turned out surprisingly well! Sadly, these beautiful animals are slowly being wiped off the face of the Earth....and this sketch maybe the only Tiger our succeeding generations may see, which would just be a sad and heart-breaking.

Those black and orange stripes
And the beauty within his eyes
In the darkness of the night
Awaiting his prey, in silence he lies

With stealth and speed he gently moves
Ever so quietly, yet swift and agile
Towards his prey he makes his way
The situation for the hunted becoming more volatile

But just as he is about to make a move
He is suddenly shot to the ground
And all his senses slowly fade
But he does hear one last sound

The sound of boots approaching him
Rustling the leaves on the ground as it does
And then he smells it, one last time
The worst scent that ever was

The scent of a human, ever so unpleasant
He could just smell the arrogance and pride
He wished he had a better sight
A better moment before he died

And with that thought he breathed his last
Swearing revenge would be taken in time
But very unfortunately it is unknown
How many times man will commit this crime
